How We Got Here
A while back, I was looking at my gear and thinking “I could probably make this.” So naturally, I bought a leatherworking kit on Amazon. Then, like any good impulse purchase, it sat on my shelf for months.
Fast forward to a particularly boring day, with a “what the hell, let’s try it” moment, and after about a year of experimenting, here we are. AfterBark Leather is what happens when a queer pup decides to make gear for their community instead of just buying it.
What We Do
We make handmade leather BDSM gear right here in Canada. Collars, cuffs, gags, and whatever else we can dream up together. While we’ve got some ready-to-order designs on the site, what really gets us excited is working on custom pieces.
Got an idea for something you haven’t seen anywhere else? Want colours or hardware that actually match your vibe? Need something that fits you, not some generic sizing chart? That’s our jam. We love the creativity and problem-solving that comes with making something truly one-of-a-kind.
I’m mostly a one-person operation, but my partner helps out with the silicone work and 3D-printed elements (like custom nameplates). Together, we’re figuring out how to make gear that’s functional, durable, and actually reflects the people who wear it.
The Name
“After Bark” is a pun. You know how people call NSFW content “after dark”? Well, we’re a pup and furry-friendly business, so… after bark. Get it? We’re very proud of ourselves.
What Matters to Us
Quality means stitches that run straight, rivets that are properly set, and straps that are cut clean. It means gear that works the way it’s supposed to, whether that’s for play, presentation, or everyday wear.
We’re self-taught and still learning, but we obsess over the details because your gear should be something you’re proud to wear (or be restrained by, no judgment).
